Recently, Ajman has witnessed a notable rise in the field of sports, with sports becoming a fundamental pillar of Ajman’s Vision 2030. The emirate aims to enhance its position as a global sports destination, as clearly demonstrated by its hosting of the continental bodybuilding and fitness championship. This reflects the leadership’s belief in the ability of sports to improve quality of life and boost tourism.

Closing of the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, attended the closing ceremony of the 58th edition of the Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship last Friday. The event, which lasted for three days at the Emirates Hospitality Center, brought together around 350 athletes from 23 countries. His Highness expressed pride in hosting this prominent event, emphasizing that it reflects international confidence in Ajman’s ability to organize sporting events to the highest global standards.

The Positive Impact of Sports on Ajman

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Hamid Al Nuaimi stated, “Sports have become a fundamental pillar of Ajman’s Vision 2030,” highlighting its pivotal role in enhancing quality of life and stimulating the local economy. He pointed out the importance of leveraging these successes to move forward in hosting more distinguished international events, which will contribute to strengthening Ajman’s presence on the global sports map.

Collaboration and Collective Efforts

The championship received significant support from the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, which worked closely with the Asian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness. In this context, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Tourism Development, emphasized the importance of the event for showcasing Ajman’s organizational capabilities and promoting its tourism and cultural attractions, praising the ongoing collaboration among all stakeholders.

Awards and Winners

At the end of the championship, the winning countries were honored by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Hamid Al Nuaimi. The UAE secured first place in the Men’s Master Semi-Pro category, followed by Syria and Oman. In the fitness challenge, Jordan took the top spot, while the UAE and Mongolia ranked second and third, respectively. In the Men’s Semi-Pro classifications, the UAE also topped the rankings, competing against Saudi Arabia and Oman.

These achievements demonstrate that sports are a fundamental pillar of Ajman’s Vision 2030, reinforcing the emirate’s commitment to developing sports fields and the necessary infrastructure to welcome the world’s top stars.
