Sharjah Islamic Launches Third Edition of Heartfelt Mosque Initiative

الشارقة 24 – عبد الحميد أبو نصر:

The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah has officially launched the third edition of its summer programme, “Hearts Attached to Mosques,” which falls under the initiative titled “A Summer that Makes an Impact.” The programme will run until August 27 and is set to engage around 1,000 students across 45 mosques throughout the emirate.

Empowering Students Through Religious Education

According to Aref Al-Shahi, head of the preaching section at the Department of Islamic Affairs, this initiative aims to enlighten students about beneficial aspects of both their religious and worldly lives. The programme is designed to utilise their free time efficiently, focusing on essential practices such as prayer and purification, while also instilling foundational Islamic values.

Cultivating a Love for the Quran and Prayer

The curriculum includes exposure to Quranic interpretations, fostering a deep love for the holy scripture and the practice of prayer among participants. Al-Shahi emphasised the importance of such educational efforts, which are particularly vital during the summer break when students have more leisure time.

Acknowledgment of Support

Al-Shahi expressed his gratitude towards the Department of Islamic Affairs and the wise leadership of the emirate for their commitment to enriching the lives of youth by effectively utilising their free time, especially during the summer vacation. This initiative not only aims to educate but also strives to leave a lasting positive impact on the young minds involved.
