On the morning of Sunday, October 4, 2026, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated the building of the Sharjah Academy for Education. This new facility embodies the academy’s commitment to providing a comprehensive academic environment that transcends traditional classroom settings. By integrating learning, research, interaction, and professional development, the academy aims to create a human-centred educational experience that fosters innovation and collaboration, ultimately preparing educators to shape the future of learning.

Upon arriving at the campus, His Highness unveiled a commemorative plaque and took a tour of the building, which includes an extensive array of educational, research, and service facilities. The design also features dedicated spaces for student interaction and extracurricular activities, enriching the educational experience and promoting collaboration and communication within the academic community in a secure and inclusive environment that respects diversity and equal opportunities.
His Highness learned about the array of student facilities within the building, which houses a Learning Resource Centre, a Student Services Department, and various administrative and support services. Notably, the academy is committed to providing an inclusive educational environment with appropriate facilities for people with disabilities, alongside robust security measures and a smart building infrastructure.
Phase One
The inaugural phase of the building includes a set of classrooms and training rooms designed to meet the varying requirements of academic programmes and accommodate diverse teaching and learning methods. This phase features nine classrooms, each capable of holding 25 students, thereby offering a total capacity for 225 students. Additionally, there are four training rooms, each accommodating 75 students, with a total capacity of 300. An inclusive lecture hall is designed to host larger lectures and workshops, providing an environment conducive to interactive and collaborative learning while ensuring an integrated educational experience that aligns with the diversity of academic programmes and modern teaching methodologies.
Phase Two
The second phase of development will introduce enhancements to the upper levels and a range of additional facilities that will complement the campus ecosystem. Planned features include an administrative building, a Board of Trustees meeting hall, multipurpose rooms, sports facilities, residential accommodations, and a studio equipped for specialized media production, including video and audio content creation and interviews. Furthermore, a dedicated lounge area for staff will provide a comprehensive working environment to meet the needs of the academy’s community.
