Dubai International Enhances Parking Payments Through Salik Integration

In a forward-thinking move, Dubai has introduced an agreement enabling seamless vehicle parking fee payments at Dubai International Airport via the Salik toll system. This partnership facilitates a digital payment experience for airport visitors, enhancing traffic flow and parking management across the airport’s extensive facilities. With a target implementation date of January 22, 2026, the agreement aims to streamline operations at one of the world’s busiest airports, encompassing a total of 7,400 parking spaces.

Signing Ceremony and Key Stakeholders

The official signing of the agreement was witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who oversees Dubai’s aviation sector, along with Salik’s CEO, Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, and Dubai Airports’ CEO, Paul Griffiths. This landmark initiative marks the integration of Salik’s innovative electronic wallet system with Dubai Airports’ vehicle parking management framework, allowing users to pay their parking fees conveniently through Salik’s digital platform.

Enhancing Visitor Experience

This initiative aims to support Dubai Airports’ vision of offering a hassle-free vehicle entry and exit system, thereby improving the overall traffic flow around the passenger terminals. The agreement not only addresses the operational efficiency for parking spaces in Terminals 1, 2, and 3, along with the cargo terminal, but it also enhances user experience by providing an entirely digital and user-friendly parking solution.

Statements from Leadership

Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating, “Dubai International Airport is a premier gateway, setting new standards through aviation’s role in driving tourism, trade, and investment. We take pride in supporting Dubai’s status as a global economic center.” His comments highlight the commitment to developing smart and sustainable infrastructure essential for the emirate’s future growth.

Paul Griffiths echoed this sentiment, explaining the significance of the electronic payment integration. “Our collaboration with Salik provides a fast, reliable, and widely accessible digital payment option, streamlining the parking experience while reducing congestion at exits,” he stated. This collaboration will play a crucial role in achieving Dubai Airport’s long-term goal of seamless accessibility for all vehicle parking areas, fostering a smart city vision.

Expanding Operational Scope

Through this collaboration, Salik broadens its operational model to include one of the key aviation assets in the region. Dubai International Airport recently recorded its highest quarterly traffic, accommodating 24.2 million passengers in Q3 2025, showcasing a year-on-year growth of 1.9%. This significant traffic highlights the crucial role of efficient vehicle management systems as part of a wider strategy to ensure a smooth travel experience.

The integration of Salik’s electronic wallet for parking fee payments is set to serve the extensive parking facilities at Dubai International Airport. This innovative approach not only reflects Dubai’s commitment to cutting-edge technology but also reinforces its stature as a driver of economic growth, sustainability, and digital innovation in transportation.
