The announcement from Ras Al Khaimah Airport regarding the development of a dedicated terminal for VIP aircraft marks an exciting new chapter in the emirate’s ambition to become a global tourism and entertainment hub. This significant initiative, unveiled at the Dubai Airshow 2025, aims to enhance the airport’s capabilities, ensuring it serves as a key gateway for high-profile travelers to the northern emirates. Through a partnership with Falcon Executive Aviation, this advanced facility will cater to the rising demand for luxury travel, reaffirming Ras Al Khaimah’s position on the world stage.
Strategic Collaboration for Growth
During the Dubai Airshow 2025, Ras Al Khaimah Airport officially announced its collaboration with Falcon Executive Aviation, a subsidiary of the Alex Investment Group. This partnership aims to develop and operate a new facility for fixed ground services, which is an integral part of Ras Al Khaimah’s strategy to bolster growth in both the aviation and tourism sectors.
State-of-the-Art Infrastructure
The upcoming facility will feature an exquisite 1,500 square meter terminal along with an 8,000 square meter multifunctional hangar, in addition to 9,000 square meters allocated for aircraft parking and preparation. Its strategic location, just 15 minutes from Ras Al Khaimah’s premier beach resorts and the upcoming “Wynn Marjan Island” resort, will significantly enhance the emirate’s ability to attract affluent travelers and private aviation clients.
Commitment to Sustainability and Innovation
Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and the Board of Directors of Ras Al Khaimah Airport, emphasized that this project is a landmark step in reaffirming the emirate’s position as a global destination. It enhances the aviation infrastructure and boosts its capacity to welcome VIP guests and investors from around the world. He noted, “We aim to ensure that the first impressions of visitors to Ras Al Khaimah reflect the quality, excellence, and hospitality our emirate is renowned for.”
Facilities and Future Prospects
The VIP terminal will boast a royal lounge, four dedicated lounges for esteemed visitors, and elegant hospitality spaces, all designed to meet the high standards of discerning travelers seeking privacy and distinction. The surrounding air infrastructure will cater to the latest requirements of private aviation, featuring ample aircraft parking spaces, a helicopter landing pad, and areas for future vertical mobility solutions.
Moreover, sustainability is at the heart of this project, with the design of the terminal and hangars aligning with stringent sustainability benchmarks. Plans include generating 35% of the facility’s energy requirements from solar power, utilizing fully electric ground equipment, and enabling sustainable aviation fuel usage to achieve net-zero operational emissions.
The upcoming development is poised to make a significant investment in the aviation infrastructure of Ras Al Khaimah, expected to have a positive economic impact on the emirate, located just four hours by flight from a third of the world’s population. Construction is set to commence over the next 15 months, with the facility scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027.
