UAE proptech startup PRYPCO has secured significant funding from General Catalyst for real estate innovation, marking a pivotal moment in the growing property technology landscape of the Middle East. This funding will enable PRYPCO to enhance its platform, catering to the increasing demand for accessible and innovative real estate investment solutions in the region.
PRYPCO, the UAE-based property technology platform, has successfully raised funds from General Catalyst in a Pre-Series A round led by the prominent venture capital firm. This investment marks General Catalyst’s first commitment to the PropTech sector in the Middle East.
Innovating the Real Estate Ecosystem
Founded in 2022 by Amira Sajwani, PRYPCO operates a comprehensive ecosystem that addresses various aspects of real estate investment, financing, and ownership. Since its launch, the platform has facilitated nearly AED 10 billion in mortgages and helped over 3,000 individuals secure UAE Golden Visas.
With over 50,000 users, PRYPCO has witnessed investments of nearly AED 20 million across 21 properties through its fractional ownership platform, PRYPCO Blocks. This innovative approach allows users to purchase fractions of properties rather than entire units, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for potential investors.
Pioneering Tokenized Investments
In a groundbreaking move, PRYPCO has introduced PRYPCO Mint, the region’s first tokenized property investment platform. This initiative has attracted nearly 2,000 investors, who have collectively invested over AED 16 million. Notably, PRYPCO is the first globally to collaborate with a government entity, partnering with the Dubai Land Department to facilitate the tokenization of title deeds.
The company supports over 60,000 real estate agents in the UAE through more than 300 secondary projects, providing access to a data hub that contains information on 1,500 projects. Additionally, it generates income streams through mortgage and Golden Visa referrals, further establishing its relevance in the competitive PropTech space.
Strategic Plans Ahead
“We’re building the future of real estate, where property ownership is no longer limited by capital, geography, or bureaucracy. General Catalyst backing us at this stage is a major milestone; it validates the urgency of what we’re solving and reinforces our role in leading this shift globally,” Amira Sajwani, Founder & CEO of PRYPCO, remarked in a statement.
Neeraj Arora, Managing Director at General Catalyst, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to partner with Amira and PRYPCO’s team in their mission to democratize real estate investments in one of the world’s most dynamic and prominent property markets. With their deep networks, unique insights, and palpable passion, we believe this team is well placed to build the future of real estate investments in the Middle East.”
PRYPCO has reported rapid success, with properties on its platform selling out within minutes and attracting investors from around the globe. The company intends to leverage this new capital to broaden its offerings, strengthen regulatory collaborations, and further scale its operations.
This funding round positions PRYPCO as a frontrunner in MENA PropTech, coinciding with Dubai and the wider MENA region’s ongoing advancements in digital assets and property innovation initiatives.
