In a crucial safety measure, Commercial Projects Company, the local importer of Jeep vehicles in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has announced a recall campaign in coordination with the Consumer Protection and Commercial Supervision Department of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. This initiative affects a significant number of Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator models.
Details of the Recall Campaign
The recall encompasses Jeep models manufactured between 2021 and 2025, with an estimated total of 5,612 vehicles expected to be recalled across the nation. According to the recall data, certain vehicles may have an electrical connector associated with the Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering Pump (EHPSP) that is prone to increased electrical resistance. This may lead to a loss in steering assistance for drivers, the appearance of warning messages such as “Service POWER Steering”, or the illumination of diagnostic trouble codes related to the power steering system.
Potential Fire Hazards
In some instances, the heightened electrical resistance in the connection area of the power steering pump could potentially raise the temperature of flammable materials. This overheating poses a serious risk, as it could result in a fire, endangering the safety of passengers inside the vehicle as well as individuals outside it.
Next Steps for Affected Customers
The Commercial Projects Company has indicated that they will reach out to affected customers to inform them of the recall campaign and advise them to bring their vehicles to approved service centres. The scheduled procedure includes inspecting and replacing the faulty electrical connections and wiring, along with the replacement of the Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering Pump.
Free Repair Services
The company has assured customers that all inspection and repair services will be conducted free of charge as part of the recall initiative. Customers are encouraged to stay informed and take the necessary actions to ensure their safety.
