89 Billion Dirhams in Hotel Revenue During the First Ten Months of 2025

The United Arab Emirates has taken another step towards solidifying its position as a top tourist destination, with hotel revenues reaching 89 billion dirhams during the first ten months of 2025. These figures reflect the ongoing momentum in the tourism sector, which plays a pivotal role in the country’s economic diversification and sustainable growth.

Notable Growth in the Hotel Sector

Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, announced that the number of hotel establishments in the country has reached 1,243, increasing the capacity of the hotel sector to over 216,000 rooms. Hotel occupancy rates have risen to 79.3%, compared to 78% last year, demonstrating the success of the policies implemented in this field.

Tourism’s Contribution to the Economy

The tourism sector contributed 13% to the country’s GDP last year, equivalent to 257.3 billion dirhams. The sector also provides over 920,000 jobs in the UAE. According to Al Marri, there are plans to raise the sector’s contribution to GDP to 17% over the next five years, as part of the ongoing development of investments and growth in the aviation sector.

Strategies to Enhance Domestic Tourism

The exceptional performance of the tourism sector is clear evidence of the success of national initiatives. One of the most prominent of these initiatives is the “World’s Most Beautiful Winter” campaign, which aims to invigorate domestic tourism and enhance the role of entrepreneurship in the sector’s growth. Now in its sixth cycle under the slogan “Our Winter is Leadership,” the campaign seeks to offer an innovative and diverse tourism experience.

Increasing Tourism Investments

In 2023, the UAE attracted tourism investments amounting to 28.8 billion dirhams, which increased to 32.2 billion dirhams in 2024. Investments are expected to reach 35.2 billion dirhams in 2025. These positive figures embody the UAE’s ambitious goals for developing and expanding the tourism sector, contributing to its economic value.

The continued success of the tourism sector in the country is a positive indicator for the future of the UAE economy, as the government aims to enhance tourist attraction and demand for hotel services, reflecting its commitment to achieving sustainable growth. With a strong focus on innovation and diversity, hotel revenue is expected to continue thriving.
