Dubai Ports Report 20.4% Revenue Surge to 41.14 Billion Dirhams

DP World has announced a robust financial and operational performance in the first half of 2025, underlining the resilience of its comprehensive global trade platform amid ongoing geopolitical and economic fluctuations. The company reported a 20.4% increase in revenues, reaching 41.14 billion dirhams (approximately $11.244 billion). This growth was driven by strong performance in the port and terminal sector, alongside recent acquisitions that contributed to the overall success of the organization.

Record Growth and Profitability

DP World registered earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increasing by 21.4% to 11.131 billion dirhams ($3.033 billion). Net profits reached 3.52 billion dirhams ($960 million) during the first half, reflecting substantial growth of 68.5% compared to 2.09 billion dirhams ($570 million) in the same period of 2024. Additionally, profits attributable to owners soared to 1.95 billion dirhams ($532 million) from 973 million dirhams ($265 million) last year, marking an impressive growth of 100.5%.

Comprehensive Solutions Amid Challenges

“We are pleased to report strong results in the first half of the year, with revenues and EBITDA growing over 20%,” stated Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World. Despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, the continued closure of the Red Sea route, and increasing uncertainty regarding global trade tariffs, the company’s strategic focus on offering integrated solutions and operating critical infrastructure in key markets has enabled it to support shippers effectively, resulting in exceptional outcomes.

Strategic Investments and Expansion Plans

DP World continues to invest significantly in strategic growth markets, totaling 3.97 billion dirhams ($1.08 billion) in capital expenditures during the first half of the year. The company plans a total capital expenditure of 9.18 billion dirhams ($2.5 billion) for the entire year, which includes expansions at Jebel Ali Port, Drydocks World, Tuna Tekra Container Terminal in India, London Gateway in the UK, and Dakar Port in Senegal. These investments aim to enhance container terminal capacity, integrate supply chains, and develop digital capabilities for long-term trade resilience.

Sustained Performance and Future Outlook

“This outstanding performance reflects the upward momentum in the ports and terminal sectors backed by strong liquidity and financial discipline,” commented Uvraj Narayan, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. DP World has managed to handle 27.4 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) at its container terminals, resulting in a 7.5% year-on-year increase. With its multi-modal transport solutions, DP World ensures seamless connectivity between global shipping lines and shippers, playing a crucial role in maintaining supply chain continuity and reliable delivery operations.

Looking forward, Sultan bin Sulayem expressed optimism about the future, stating that “we are poised to lead the sector in delivering innovative trade solutions characterized by efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability.” DP World’s strategic investments and advancements in operational capabilities position it strongly to navigate ongoing economic challenges while enhancing its role as a reliable global logistics partner. The continued growth in overall handling volumes and operational efficiencies contributes to a positive outlook for the company in the upcoming periods.
