The government is working to attract the best global universities to make Dubai one of the top 10 cities in the world for students, with plans to open branches of prestigious academic institutions representing various disciplines.
Initiatives to Enhance Higher Education
Dubai is home to several globally ranked universities, with nine institutions listed among the top 200 worldwide. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan confirmed, “We are working to empower our students by attracting more universities ranked among the top 200 globally.” These efforts enhance students’ opportunities and prepare them for successful professional lives.
The government also aims to achieve its economic targets aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda 2033, focusing on attracting more international students. It is expected that international students will constitute 50% of the total number of students enrolled in higher education institutions by 2033.
Support for Academic and Career Guidance
One of the key initiatives is the implementation of an academic and career guidance policy to assist students in choosing the right specializations. His Highness stated, “We congratulate the students who have successfully completed their secondary education this year and wish success to those who continue their studies.” This policy aims to enhance job opportunities and open new horizons for students, contributing to making Dubai one of the top 10 cities in the world for students.

Additionally, 90% of Emirati students are expected to be employed shortly after graduation, supporting the city’s sustainable development plans.
Achieving a Sustainable Educational Environment
Future plans include policies to improve air quality in Dubai by reducing emissions and cultivating a healthy educational environment.
