The General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai is expanding the “Red Carpet” service for arriving and departing passengers at Dubai Airport Terminal 3, following its successful implementation in the business class departure lounge. This initiative aims to expedite travel procedures and enhance the experience of travelers, allowing passengers to benefit more comprehensively from smart corridor services. The plan includes thorough reviews to ensure the accurate operation of this modern service.
Red Carpet Operation Standards
Brigadier Walid Ahmed Said, Acting Assistant Director General for Air Ports Sector at Dubai Residency, stated that the operation of the “Red Carpet” relies on three main criteria. The first criterion is comprehensive and prior security screening, which ensures the safety of travelers and the reliability of information, making the crossing process a mere completion of pre-verified procedures. The second criterion involves using advanced technologies for passenger identification through smart cameras, which are directly linked to flight data to ensure that the passenger’s identity matches the information on the ticket. This reduces the likelihood of any travel issues for passengers.
The third criterion is completing procedures without the need to present documents or passports. This eliminates the hassle of stopping and waiting, providing travelers with a fast and comfortable completion experience.
Service Usage Criteria
The “Red Carpet” service will be available to all travelers, not just a specific category, provided they meet the requirements and regulations. Those wishing to use this service must register in advance at passport control offices, linking their passport data with their personal photo. After that, they can seamlessly use the smart corridor or smart gates.
Focus on Innovation
Dubai Airport, which ranks first globally in terms of international passenger numbers, continues to strive for innovative services. The “Red Carpet” is part of this focus, aiming to enhance the travel experience and improve the efficiency of the services provided. The project has been developed through national efforts, reflecting the dedication of Emirati personnel in enhancing the crossing experience, supported by wise leadership that creates motivating environments to empower national talents.
Traveler Opinions
Feedback from travelers, especially foreign tourists, has shown great admiration for this service. Many expressed a desire to see similar experiences in airports in their countries, reflecting the UAE’s leading position in innovation and the provision of the best services in the aviation and travel sector.
