A high-level economic delegation, comprising 15 prominent women entrepreneurs from the People’s Republic of China, has embarked on an official two-week visit to the United Arab Emirates. This initiative is jointly organised by the General Women’s Union and the UAE Embassy in Beijing and is part of an extensive investment programme aimed at exploring commercial opportunities and forging sustainable economic partnerships between female business leaders in both countries.
The delegation represents companies and business groups with an impressive annual revenue of approximately 4.85 billion yuan, spanning various vital sectors. These include industry, trade, hospitality, tourism, food security, biotechnology, infrastructure, renewable energy, smart lighting, real estate, and investment services, as well as textiles and clothing.
Notably, the delegation features firms leading in the food and restaurant sectors with annual revenues of nearly 1.203 billion yuan and a total business value of 5 billion yuan. Additionally, entities in hospitality and tourism boast assets nearing 5.03 billion yuan, comprising companies with existing partnerships in the UAE, along with others that are prioritising market expansion in the region.
The composition of the delegation was carefully crafted, featuring eight leaders with established experience in the UAE market, five representing companies with strong sectoral potential and promising collaboration opportunities, along with two leaders seeking to establish a new presence for their firms in the country.
Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the General Women’s Union, emphasised that the hosting of this delegation aligns with the Union’s mission to expand international cooperation for women and to connect them more closely with sustainable economic and investment opportunities. She stated: “We aimed to select a distinguished group of Chinese businesswomen representing economically significant companies with diverse expertise. Our goal transcends mere exchange of visits and experiences; we aspire to build direct economic ties that can evolve into solid partnerships, investments, and joint projects. This initiative allows them to gain firsthand insight into the comprehensive economic ecosystem of the UAE, its advanced infrastructure, competitive business environment, and quality opportunities across various sectors while simultaneously opening direct channels between them and Emirati women entrepreneurs.”
Al Suwaidi added: “We see women as active partners in building economic relationships between nations and believe that empowering women entrepreneurs with direct access to markets, investment opportunities, and potential partners will wide open avenues for transforming the distinguished relations between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China into sustainable and growth-oriented economic cooperation.”
The programme for the visit includes a series of field tours and meetings with economic entities, chambers of commerce, and investors. Highlights include a showcase of the investment ecosystem and market entry pathways in Abu Dhabi, site visits to Kizad and industrial areas, and strategic investment dialogues in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Abu Dhabi Ports Group. Moreover, the delegation will experience an integrated transport and logistics system through a journey on the “Union Train”.
Following Abu Dhabi, the delegation will continue its exploration in Fujairah to learn about the industrial growth strategy and trade opportunities at the ports, before moving on to Ras Al Khaimah to examine investment fields and infrastructure that support production processes. The field tours will proceed to Umm Al-Quwain, Ajman, and Sharjah, including visits to free zones and key facilities, alongside roundtable meetings to explore partnerships. The visit will culminate in Dubai with an extensive programme aimed at translating these discussions into long-term commercial and investment projects that yield mutual economic benefits.
