Al Dhahra Agriculture, a UAE-based company specializing in the agricultural sector and food security, participated in the “Impact 2026” event held in Abu Dhabi under the theme “Impact Defined.” The company shared its successful experience in enhancing supply chain resilience and ensuring the continuous flow of essential food goods to the UAE. It highlighted its strategic role in supporting the national food security system, showcasing its global operations that include owning and managing over 100,000 hectares of agricultural land in Europe, America, and Africa, along with efforts made in recent months to address challenges affecting global supply chains and ensure the sustainability of wheat, barley, grains, and animal feed supplies to the country.
Wissam Abbas, the Regional Executive Director of Al Dhahra Agriculture, stated to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the company successfully navigated the repercussions of recent disruptions in global supply chains by realigning supply routes and enhancing logistical efficiency, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of essential food goods to local markets. He explained that through this effort, Al Dhahra Agriculture was able to maintain its commitment to food security during a critical time.
More than 18,000 farmers have benefited from integrated food security programs and initiatives in Abu Dhabi, reflecting the success the company has achieved in ensuring the continuity and security of food supply. A significant portion of the country’s grain imports passes through the company’s strategic facilities and silos at the Port of Fujairah, highlighting the pivotal role the company plays within the national food security and supply chain system.
Abbas emphasized that the operational expertise the company has gained through dealing with global crises, from the COVID-19 pandemic to current challenges, has strengthened its ability to respond to changes and establish a more resilient and sustainable supply system. This approach supports the UAE’s readiness to continue securing its food needs and enhancing its food security in the long term, with Al Dhahra Agriculture leading these efforts.
