In a significant stride towards modernising the judicial system, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, in collaboration with the Government Empowerment Department, is spearheading the development of what is touted as the world’s first comprehensive judicial artificial intelligence platform. This initiative aims to enhance decision-making in judicial and legal processes through the application of AI, all while ensuring oversight and verification by human experts. Such integration is expected to streamline procedures and bolster both accuracy and consistency within the judicial framework.
Strategic Discussions for Implementation
The steering committee for the project recently convened under the leadership of His Excellency Youssef Saeed Al Abri, the Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. During their discussions, the committee outlined a proposed action plan for the comprehensive judicial platform’s launch across the entire judicial workflow. The first phase of the project is anticipated to commence in September, setting the stage for a gradual rollout over an 18-month period.
Visionary Leadership and Commitment to Innovation
His Excellency Al Abri emphasised that the move towards this innovative judicial system exemplifies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, in terms of leadership, innovation, and the adoption of future technologies to enhance the quality of governmental services. This initiative aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, to elevate the judicial system in accordance with the highest global standards.
Advancing Judicial Efficiency Through Technology
The artificial intelligence platform being developed will offer advanced capabilities through a comprehensive suite of smart solutions. This technological advancement will significantly modernise judicial processes and facilitate procedures by employing AI throughout various phases of litigation, thereby promoting a more efficient and effective judicial environment.
