In an effort to enhance road safety, Abu Dhabi Police has launched an educational workshop focused on the theme of “Safe Transport and the Use of the Stop Arm.” This initiative targets school bus drivers and supervisors, aligning with the department’s ongoing commitment to uphold the highest traffic safety standards. As the new school year approaches in 2025, raising awareness among these crucial stakeholders is essential to ensure the safe transportation of students in Abu Dhabi.
Workshop Aims to Elevate Traffic Awareness
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of the Central Operations Sector of Abu Dhabi Police recently conducted the workshop aimed at school bus drivers and supervisors. Brigadier Mahmoud Yusuf Al-Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, praised the efforts in organizing such initiatives. “These programs contribute to spreading traffic culture and instilling positive behaviors among drivers and supervisors,” he noted. This emphasis on traffic awareness reflects the broader strategy of Abu Dhabi Police in promoting safety and security on the roads.
Key Focus Areas of the Workshop
The workshop emphasized several key elements essential for the safety of students during transit. Participants were educated on vital traffic rules and the importance of safety measures both inside and outside the buses. The paramount importance of prioritizing student safety was reiterated, with Al-Balushi stressing that adhering to traffic regulations is a shared responsibility that must be taken seriously. Key topics included compliance with speed limits, avoiding overtaking, and ensuring safe distances between vehicles, along with a strong emphasis on coming to a complete stop in adverse weather conditions, such as fog and heavy rain.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Abu Dhabi Police remains steadfast in its commitment to continuous improvement in traffic safety measures. The insights gained from the workshop will not only equip drivers and supervisors with essential knowledge but also foster a culture of responsibility among all stakeholders. This proactive approach ensures that the safety of students remains at the forefront of community concerns, paving the way for a more secure environment on the roads as the academic year begins.
