Sharjah Police Launches Summer Initiative for Improved Traffic Safety

The Sharjah Police General Command has launched an extensive awareness campaign titled “Summer Without Accidents” to enhance traffic safety. This initiative, led by the Vehicle and Driver Licensing Department and the Technical Inspection Division in collaboration with ENOC “Tasjeel” and Autopro, aims to significantly reduce road accidents. Through this campaign, the Sharjah Police seeks to establish a culture of prevention by fostering effective partnerships with the private sector.

Free Vehicle Inspections at Tasjeel Centers

The “Summer Without Accidents” campaign focuses on raising traffic awareness among drivers during the hot summer months. One of its key components is the provision of free vehicle inspections at Tasjeel centers across Sharjah. Emphasizing the dangers associated with neglecting tire checks, the campaign warns that rising temperatures, combined with increased travel, can lead to tire damage or blowouts.

Encouraging Drivers to Perform Tire Safety Checks

This initiative encourages drivers to regularly check their tire pressure, review the age of their tires, and look for any cracks that may compromise vehicle safety. These factors are primary contributors to serious road accidents and warrant attention from all motorists.

Proactive Services Ensure Vehicle Preparedness

Major General Dr. Jassim Bin Huda Al-Suwaidi emphasized that the campaign demonstrates Sharjah Police’s commitment to road user safety. The proactive services included in the initiative aim to ensure vehicle readiness, with tire inspections highlighted as crucial preventative measures that can save drivers’ lives and reduce accident rates, particularly in summer conditions. He praised the collaborative efforts with partners from Tasjeel and Autopro in making the campaign a success and enhancing the safety culture in the emirate and the country.

Community Engagement Through Direct Outreach

The campaign will also feature random technical inspections on roads, along with field visits to various government entities to inspect employee vehicles, ensuring their safety for use. Additionally, informative points will be established, educational materials will be distributed, and traffic safety messages will be broadcast through various media and social platforms in the most commonly spoken languages among drivers, aiming to reach a broader segment of the community.

Comprehensive Free Inspections Covering Key Vehicle Components

The “Summer Without Accidents” initiative provides a no-cost inspection covering ten essential vehicle points. These include tire pressure and condition, engine belts, air conditioning systems, filters, headlights and taillights, batteries, cooling hoses, and fluid levels such as engine oil and coolant. These inspections are critical for ensuring road safety and preventing accidents during the busy summer travel season.
