Situated in the heart of Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Emarat Park has solidified its position as a premier cultural and community destination. This commitment is reflected in a range of artistic experiences that showcase the cultural diversity and openness inherent to Abu Dhabi.
A Vision of Environmental Conservation
For over four decades, Umm Al Emarat Park embodies the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, stressing the importance of environmental preservation, heritage conservation, and the bond between humans and nature. The park’s design harmoniously marries elements inspired by traditional designs with contemporary architecture, featuring lush green spaces, shaded pathways, and geometric patterns that enhance its beauty.
Learning Through Enjoyment
Umm Al Emarat Park promotes a “learning through entertainment” philosophy, providing interactive experiences that blend knowledge with fun. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to explore various aspects of Emirati heritage, along with global arts and cultures. The park is particularly dedicated to preserving Emirati heritage, introducing guests to authentic customs and traditions through numerous activities, including traditional falconry shows, which offer a close look at this noble practice.
Celebrating National and Cultural Events
The park takes pride in celebrating national and community occasions, particularly the UAE National Day and Emirati Women’s Day. Its programming highlights fundamental Emirati values, showcases the role of women in development, and fosters feelings of belonging and pride in national identity.
Artistic Initiatives and Cultural Exchanges
Currently, Umm Al Emarat Park is hosting a limited-time program from the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, providing guests an opportunity to engage with contemporary art. Additionally, from the 6th of November to the 6th of December, it will host the “Children’s Biennale,” the first outdoor biennial for children in nature across the Middle East, presented by the Abu Dhabi Festival.
The park also plays a vital role in showcasing international events that reflect Abu Dhabi’s cultural diversity. Among these is the “Korea Festival,” offering an exciting lineup of live performance art, cultural workshops, K-Pop music, and traditional Korean culinary experiences.
In support of the arts and creativity, Umm Al Emarat Park will also feature award-winning artworks in 2025 and 2026 from Christo and Jeanne-Claude, allowing the public to interact with contemporary art within the park’s open spaces, thereby bringing art closer to various segments of society.
