The Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Centre has successfully hosted seven artistic workshops as part of the “Brush and Artist” initiative during the first half of October. Aimed at children, mothers, and young females, the programme seeks to uncover talents, enhance creative skills, and boost the presence of the arts within families and the community. This aligns with the aspirations of the “Year of the Family” and enriches the cultural landscape of Al Ain.
Engaging Activities for All Generations
Under the guidance of Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, the initiative included a variety of engaging activities. Notable among these was “Secrets of Space” in collaboration with Sheikha Bint Surour School, as well as a workshop on “Artistic Composition” for children aimed at teaching the fundamentals of balance in artwork. Additionally, the “My Unique Touch” workshop provided mothers with a platform to express their creative fingerprint.
Workshops Designed for Creative Exploration
The initiative also featured the “Dream Pillow” workshop, catering to various age groups, along with a “Quilling Art” paper-folding workshop. The programme concluded with the Japanese art of “Kintsugi,” where mothers and young females created artwork from fabric scraps without sewing, and a clay modelling workshop for children. These activities exemplify the centre’s vision of fostering an inspiring environment that brings generations together in shared creative experiences, while also offering insights into global and local art forms.
Overall, this series of workshops not only nurtured individual talent but also fostered a strong community spirit through artistic collaboration and learning.
