King Fahd University’s Executive MBA Joins Global Top 100 Rankings

In a remarkable achievement, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) has secured a place in the Financial Times’ prestigious list of the world’s top 100 Executive MBA programmes, ranking 79th overall. This recognition underscores KFUPM’s commitment to providing quality education in business leadership, marking a significant milestone as it represents the only Arab university on this year’s list.

Executive MBA Programme Excellence

The Executive MBA programme at KFUPM has not only made its debut on the Financial Times’ rankings but has also claimed the top spot among Arab institutions and second in the wider Middle East and African regions. Its outstanding performance is further highlighted by the fact that the Business School achieved its highest rank ever for a first-time participant in this renowned global listing.

This year, the KFUPM programme outperformed several prestigious academic institutions, including the Georgia Institute of Technology, Rice University, and Melbourne Business School. Unique to KFUPM’s programme is its design, delivery, and awarding of the degree within Saudi Arabia, ensuring full academic responsibility remains with the university, independent of foreign institutions.

The programme enhances the presence of local academic offerings in the ranking, being the only locally developed programme awarded by a national institution, amidst the majority of participants being international branches like INSEAD in the Middle East, London Business School in Dubai, and HEC Paris in Qatar.

King Fahd University: A Beacon of Academic Excellence

KFUPM’s rise in the rankings reflects its ongoing transformation in research activities, academic staff, and curriculum development. In the past year alone, the volume of research output has surged by 71%, with a significant portion published in leading academic journals. This growth has been fuelled by the recruitment of new faculty members renowned for their impactful research, contributing to 62 publications within the Financial Times’ indexed journals.

Additionally, the Business School has launched its inaugural PhD programme and introduced a new Master’s in Business Administration, along with Master’s programmes in artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship, further illustrating its dedication to evolving educational offerings.

In related news, the sixth edition of the “Misk Initiative Incubator” has been launched to empower 12 youth initiatives, demonstrating KFUPM’s broader commitment to community engagement and innovation.
