Sharjah 24 – Hagar Khamis:
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has officially approved the development plan for Al-Freesh Lake in Khor Fakkan. The project spans an area of approximately 51,200 square metres and will feature a water storage capacity of 28 million gallons, accommodating 200 parking spaces for visitors.
A Vision for Khor Fakkan
On May 5, during a phone call on the “Direct Line” programme, His Highness shared exciting news with the residents of Khor Fakkan regarding the Al-Freesh Lake project. He expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are working on completing the Al-Freesh Lake project behind the Al-Murshid Square, which is approximately 750 meters long. It will serve as an enjoyable park for children, similar to the Al-Rafeesa Dam project.”
Enhancing Community Spaces
His Highness outlined the plans, noting that tree planting has commenced in the surrounding mountains, along with the construction of waterfalls that will flow into the sea. The design aims to provide a space where families can park their cars, stroll, and take pleasure in the natural beauty of the area. He expressed his dedication to expediting the completion of such projects, saying, “I am so eager to finish these initiatives quickly; if I could personally assist in removing the gravel, I would.”
The ambitious plans for Al-Freesh Lake reflect His Highness’s commitment to enhancing Khor Fakkan, with ongoing efforts to transform governmental buildings into architectural landmarks. With this initiative, the community can look forward to a new recreational area that promises to enrich the local environment and lifestyle.
