In a significant achievement, the Abu Dhabi Labour Court has successfully recovered a total of AED 7,811,933 for 948 workers, following the resolution of three collective cases in record time. This initiative not only underscores the robust judicial framework in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi but also reflects the court’s agility in handling worker-related group cases, ensuring that financial entitlements are effectively safeguarded and job stability is reinforced for employees.
Efficient Resolution of Workers’ Claims
The collaboration between the Abu Dhabi Labour Court, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and the execution parties facilitated the collection and distribution of these amounts, derived from an original claim totaling AED 12,308,000. Impressively, all of this was accomplished within a mere three months from the date of filing the complaints.
Distribution of Payments
As a result of the court’s expedited efforts, full payments were made to 457 workers, while 491 others received partial payments. The remaining amounts owed have been scheduled for repayment through structured installment plans, ensuring continued compliance with the workers’ financial rights.
Maintaining Employment Stability
The adopted settlement mechanism allowed workers to retain their jobs with the companies against which the enforcement was initiated. This approach has not only preserved the stability of employment relations but also bolstered economic activity and production continuity, while the remaining financial settlements are actively monitored.
Commitment to Justice and Partnership
This proactive approach by the Abu Dhabi Labour Court highlights its ongoing commitment to the swift resolution of disputes and the fulfilment of rights in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. Furthermore, it emphasizes the court’s partnership with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to enhance the efficiency of enforcement procedures, thereby fostering a sustainable and stable working environment for all parties involved.
