The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026 is set to feature a robust representation of Emirati publications, with “Platform for Distribution” showcasing over 1,000 titles from local authors and publishers. This initiative not only enhances the visibility of Emirati literature but also strengthens connections between readers and the literary community during one of the most significant cultural events in the UAE.
Showcasing Local Talent
Running until 18 September, “Platform for Distribution” is presenting the works of 75 Emirati publishing houses, featuring an impressive total of 1,004 titles and approximately 8,500 books. This extensive participation exemplifies the diversity of local production and highlights the expanding network of publishers represented by the company, demonstrating the vital role of distribution channels in reaching broader audiences.
Connecting Publishers and Readers
Through this initiative, Emirati publishers participating via “Platform for Distribution” have the opportunity to display, sell, and distribute their works over the course of the fair. This setup fosters a closer relationship between readers and books, enhancing awareness of local publications as the event draws in publishers, authors, and book enthusiasts from around the globe.
Strategic Partnerships Signed
During the fair, “Platform for Distribution” also formalised a distribution agreement with the “Trends Research and Advisory Group.” This collaboration aims to develop a strategic partnership that will expand the reach of specialised intellectual and research publications to a wider audience of readers and researchers, both locally and internationally.
In addition, the company entered into a cooperative agreement with the “National Archives and Library” to support and simplify the legal deposit process for publishers in the UAE. This partnership aims to enhance the efficiency of international numbering operations while facilitating the delivery of publications to the National Archives and Library.
Commitment to Emirati Literature
Rashed Al-Kous, General Manager of “Platform for Distribution,” emphasized that the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair represents a crucial opportunity to bolster the presence of Emirati literature while raising awareness of local production. “It serves as a platform that unites publishers, readers, and partners from across the publishing sector,” he noted, adding that the company aims to go beyond merely showcasing and distributing publications. Their focus is on building partnerships that will contribute to the development of the publishing ecosystem and ensure the accessibility and sustainability of UAE literature.
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, Chairman of the Trends Group, expressed that signing this agreement with “Platform for Distribution” reflects their commitment to broadening the reach of their research and intellectual publications to the widest possible demographic, both locally and internationally.
As the fair continues, the spotlight on local Emirati publications promises to enrich the cultural landscape and inspire new readership among visitors.
