This year’s World Law Day celebrates the law as a cornerstone of justice and rights protection, with the UAE setting an example through effective and flexible legislation and specialized legal training.
Dr. Ahmed Said bin Mishar, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Legislation in Dubai, stated that the celebration of World Law Day is an annual occasion that underscores the central role of law as the foundation of communities marked by justice and fairness. He emphasized that law is essential for sustainable social development, grounded in equality of rights and obligations.
The significance of law extends beyond establishing justice and safeguarding rights; it organizes administrative, civil, penal, and personal affairs. Sovereignty of the law is a key measure of national competitiveness, institutional reliability, and the attractiveness of economic and investment environments. In this context, the United Arab Emirates exemplifies this principle. Due to the visionary guidance of our wise leadership, the UAE has become a model for achieving effective justice and ensuring equality before the law. Our legislative framework is characterized by its flexibility and comprehensiveness, keeping pace with current realities and anticipating future needs, which supports the UAE’s growth and elevation. On this occasion, we express our pride in our nation’s legal achievements that have solidified its standing as a state of law and institutions. We salute the legal professionals in the UAE and around the world and reaffirm our commitment to promoting legal culture and developing a legislative framework that is more flexible and proactive to ensure the supremacy of law and contribute to realizing justice.
