Last Thursday, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, through the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, hosted the ‘Women Farmers: Makers of Impact’ event in Abu Dhabi. This year, the event coincides with Emirati Women’s Day, celebrated under the theme ‘We Show the Strongest and the Best’.
Mozah Suhail Al Mehairi, Deputy Director-General for Regulatory and Administrative Affairs at the authority and Chair of the Award’s Supreme Committee, remarked, “The Emirati female farmer does not just cultivate crops; she instills confidence in our food supply, preserves our resources, and passes down invaluable knowledge. Furthermore, she paves the way for new generations of women to engage in this vital sector, closely linked to community security and sustainability for the future.”
The event highlighted the achievements of ten distinguished Emirati female farmers, selected through a community voting process, showcasing their significant contributions to the agricultural landscape.
