On August 27, 2026, the Emirati Women’s Forum will take place in Dubai, marking a significant occasion in conjunction with the country’s celebration of Emirati Women’s Day. Under the theme “We Show Our Strength and Excellence,” declared by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the forum is organised by the Dubai Women’s Foundation and aims to pave the way for greater opportunities for women in the UAE.
A Platform for Empowerment
The forum, now in its second edition, will be held at the Jumeirah Al Naseem, sponsored by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council and President of the Dubai Women’s Foundation. It will feature participation from prominent ministers and officials from various governmental and semi-governmental bodies, as well as the private sector, who will serve as key speakers in discussion sessions and workshops.
Engaging Agenda
The event will encompass seven main dialogue sessions and six workshops focused on the contributions of Emirati women across various sectors. It aims to showcase best practices, institutional policies, and pioneering initiatives that highlight the role of women in the workforce.
Investing in Women’s Capabilities
Sheikha Manal highlighted that the forum continues the UAE’s steadfast commitment to supporting women and reinforcing their role as essential partners in developmental strides. She emphasised that the achievements of Emirati women serve as a launchpad for broader aspirations and leadership opportunities. “Amid the rapid transformations across the globe, it is crucial to continue investing in women’s skills and knowledge, preparing them to seize new opportunities,” she stated.
Building a Competitive Future
Sheikha Manal expressed confidence that the forum would bolster the voices and visions of Emirati women, aligning with the UAE’s ambitions to cultivate a more competitive, innovative, and sustainable economy.
Inclusive Participation
According to Mona Ghanem Al Merri, Chairwoman of the Dubai Women’s Foundation, the forum embodies a comprehensive agenda that brings together decision-makers, national leaders, and representatives from various institutions and the private sector. This diverse participation adds significant value, enhancing the dialogue surrounding priorities that elevate women’s contributions to national development.
National Experiences at the Forefront
Noteworthy sessions include “We Show Our Strength and Excellence,” inspired by this year’s Emirati Women’s Day theme, featuring Her Highness Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, the first Emirati to hold a ministerial position in the UAE government. Additionally, Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of Education, will share insights in the session titled “Makers of Generations and Builders of the Future.”
The forum will also host discussions led by Minister of State Mariam bint Mohammed Al Mehairi, under the theme “A National Vision that Created Opportunities for Emirati Women.” The key session “Emirati Women and the Future” will include contributions from Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, along with a dialogue featuring Rafi’a Al Abbar and Fatima Mohammed Al Jokar, addressing “Emirati Women: Leadership and Influence in Vital Sectors.”
Workshops Highlighting Vital Sectors
The forum will incorporate diverse workshops focusing on the role of women in key areas such as sustainability, innovation, finance, media, negotiation, entrepreneurship, culture, and the arts.
Strategic partners of the forum include the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Municipality of Dubai, and Dubai Islamic Bank, alongside media and supporting partners like Dubai Media Foundation and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.
