In a significant step towards fostering economic collaboration, Dubai Chambers has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in business and investment between the two regions, focusing on expanding trade exchanges.
Strengthening Business Ties
The MoU, recently signed in Bangalore, outlines plans to develop dedicated mechanisms that will assist Karnataka companies in establishing a presence in Dubai. This initiative will involve providing comprehensive support services to facilitate the establishment of branches and head offices, enabling businesses to tap into the numerous opportunities within Dubai’s thriving market across various sectors. The agreement also ensures that all regulatory requirements and market insights are readily available to prospective investors.
Commitment to Collaboration
Mohammed Ali Rashed Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, expressed the organisation’s commitment to fostering bridges of cooperation between the business communities of Dubai and India, especially in Karnataka. “We aim to expand economic partnerships that support the growth of mutual trade and investments,” he stated. Lootah emphasised the importance of allowing Indian companies to take advantage of Dubai’s advanced competitive advantages, portraying the emirate as a strategic gateway to regional and global markets.
Joint Initiatives and Events
Under the MoU, both parties will collaborate to organise joint business events designed to showcase promising investment opportunities and facilitate market insights. This partnership will also promote cooperation between the business ecosystems in both Dubai and Karnataka, including exchanges of commercial delegations and missions between the two regions.
Expanding Presence in India
In alignment with these efforts, Dubai Global Chamber established a representative office in Bangalore in 2025, following the opening of its first office in Mumbai in 2018. This strategic move is intended to bolster efforts to support collaboration among companies in both Dubai and India, while also working closely with the Indian business community to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors. Furthermore, the office will promote the competitive advantages that Dubai offers as a global business destination.
A Forward-Looking Collaboration
The signing of this MoU reflects ongoing efforts to enhance communication with strategic global markets, creating effective channels for collaboration between Dubai’s business community and their international counterparts. It epitomises Dubai Chambers’ commitment to supporting cross-border partnerships and generating new opportunities for international cooperation.
