The United Arab Emirates and Mauritius have taken a significant step towards enhancing market integrity and investor protection through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to bolster regulatory cooperation and facilitate the exchange of information and expertise between the two nations.
Strengthening Regulatory Cooperation
Waleed Saeed Al-Awadi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the UAE, officially signed the MoU with the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius. The collaboration is expected to improve oversight efficiency, promote market integrity, and protect investors across both jurisdictions.
Goals of the Memorandum
The MoU highlights several key objectives aimed at fostering a robust regulatory environment. By enhancing cooperation, both countries seek to strengthen their market oversight capabilities, ensuring that both local and international investors benefit from transparent and fair market practices.
This initiative not only underscores the importance of cross-border regulatory collaboration but also emphasises how both nations are committed to sustaining high standards of market integrity and investor protection.
