Dubai Airports has launched a pre-check service for eligibility to use smart gates at Dubai International, in a joint development with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs. The service is designed to give travellers instant confirmation of their eligibility before they reach the passport control area, helping to make movement through the airport easier and improving the overall passenger experience.
Faster confirmation before passport control
According to Dubai Airports, the initiative is part of a broader effort to make the journey through Dubai International smoother and more seamless for guests. By allowing passengers to verify their smart gate eligibility in advance, the service aims to reduce uncertainty and support a more efficient arrival and departure experience.
Dubai Airports said on its official account on X: “Innovative solutions at Dubai International Airport are based on one goal: making the journey of guests through the airport smoother and more seamless.
“Developed jointly with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, the pre-check service for smart gate eligibility allows passengers to confirm their eligibility instantly before reaching the passport control area, making movement easier and enhancing their experience at Dubai International Airport”.
How the service can be used
The pre-check service is available through the Pocket Flights application or by scanning QR codes placed throughout the terminals and gates.
