Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has strengthened its global standing after winning two major international governance awards in the United Kingdom for 2026, underscoring its growing reputation as a benchmark in corporate governance, sustainability, and institutional excellence. The recognition highlights the authority’s long-term commitment to transparent practices, responsible management, and innovation-driven performance.
International recognition for governance excellence
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority received the honours from Cambridge IFA in the UK: the Best Corporate Governance Framework Award 2026 and the Excellence in ESG and Sustainability Governance Award 2026. The awards reflect the authority’s continued progress in building a governance model that aligns with leading global standards.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, received the awards at the authority’s new headquarters, in the presence of Eng. Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence, Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Muwayji, Vice President of Governance and Compliance, and members of the Corporate Governance and Compliance team.

Al Tayer said that, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, the authority applies an integrated system covering all activities and operations. He noted that this approach supports efficiency, boosts productivity, and encourages creativity and innovation.
