Qualificar Takes on First-Class Rivals in the Prix de Saint Cloud
The colt Qualificar, owned by the global Godolphin team, is gearing up for an exciting experience in the Group 1 Prix de Saint Cloud as he competes for the title today. This event is reserved for horses aged four and over and covers a distance of 2400 meters at the iconic Saint Cloud racecourse in France. Qualificar faces seven of the best horses in the global arena, adding a special character to this competition and promising a thrilling race.
Challenges Ahead for Qualificar
Qualificar will have to contend with strong competition, represented by horses with a rich history in international contests. Among these competitors is the colt Calandagan, who boasts the highest global ranking from last season and has achieved several titles under the guidance of his trainer, Francis-Henri Graffard. Notably, he won the Japan Cup, where he set a record time for the 2400-meter distance, as well as the Dubai Sheema Classic.
Qualificar’s Return to Saint Cloud
Qualificar’s last appearance at the Saint Cloud racecourse was in May 2025, when he secured his first victory in a novice race. Since then, he has achieved further wins in Group 3 races, as well as in the Group 2 Prix Niel. He also demonstrated outstanding performance during his participations, finishing second by a half-length in the Prix du Jockey Club.
Opinions on Qualificar’s Preparations
Commenting on Qualificar’s recent preparations, Louise Benard from Godolphin in France expressed optimism, stating, “André has always had great confidence in Qualificar, and the horse deserves his place in a race of this caliber. We hope the pace of the race is suitable, although it is a very strong contest.” Benard added, “Qualificar has not made many mistakes in his outings this year, and it’s clear that his level has improved since his last participation.”
Given his strong background and the advanced performance he displayed last season, Qualificar is expected to be one of the prominent contenders in the Prix de Saint Cloud. Everyone is eager to see what this new participation will bring for the colt in the Group 1 event.
