In a significant development for the entrepreneurial landscape in the UAE, the Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy (ADGMA) has concluded the first cohort of the “Entrepreneurs in 3D Printing” program. This initiative has empowered 50 Emirati citizens with essential skills in advanced manufacturing and entrepreneurship, positioning them to contribute to the nation’s future economic landscape. By equipping participants with hands-on experience and business acumen, the program aims to foster innovation and drive sustainable economic diversification in the Emirates.
Launch of Innovative Program
The launch of the “Entrepreneurs in 3D Printing” program reflects a collaborative effort among leading institutions specializing in innovation and training, including the “Maw talents” center under the Government Empowerment Department, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, and Sandan Company. Designed to cultivate a new generation of Emirati talent, the program seeks to instill leadership capabilities and advanced knowledge in thriving industrial sectors.
Showcase Event Highlights Achievements
After an intensive three-week training period, the program culminated in a “Showcase Day” held in Al Ain. This event allowed the first cohort, consisting of 50 job seekers, to present their locally created innovations and prototypes during a dedicated exhibition. The Showcase featured keynote sessions and a certificate distribution ceremony attended by leading executives, experts, and stakeholders, celebrating the participants’ achievements and the growing role of local innovation in fulfilling the UAE’s economic ambitions.
Hands-On Training and Future Opportunities
During the program, participants received specialized training in entrepreneurial thinking, business strategy development, and crafting investment pitches. The curriculum covered critical areas such as material selection, design modeling, prototype development, and the practical applications of 3D printing technologies, effectively transforming theoretical ideas into viable business projects. This comprehensive training is instrumental in instilling a culture of entrepreneurship and paving the way for future career opportunities.
Support from Khalifa Fund
In its pivotal role in nurturing a competitive and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development played a crucial part by offering specialized workshops for the participants. These workshops were hosted at “Mazan Hub Al Ain,” an entrepreneurship center that plays a key role in nurturing startups and supporting Emirati founders in their initial stages by providing a complete support environment, including workspace, training, mentorship, and partnership opportunities.
Empowering Local Talent
Dr. Abdullah Al Shammari, Executive Director of the National Talent Empowerment Sector at Maw talents, emphasized the importance of enhancing human capabilities in Abu Dhabi. He stated, “When a job seeker exits this program with a ready prototype, a proven business concept, and the confidence required to build a comprehensive new project, they are not only qualified for employment; they are empowered to shape their own future. This is the true impact we strive to achieve every day.” Al Shammari also affirmed the partnership with ADGMA and Sandan, highlighting the significance of making world-class opportunities accessible throughout the emirate.
Paving the Way for Future Innovators
Ali Al Mehairi, Senior Executive Director of Business Empowerment at ADGMA, commented on the initiative, saying, “The Entrepreneurs in 3D Printing program reflects our commitment to empowering Emirati talents by equipping them with future-facing skills that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth. By combining advanced manufacturing capabilities with entrepreneurial training, we contribute to preparing a new generation of creators and innovators ready to actively support the industrial and knowledge-based economy of the UAE.” He also noted the growing recognition of Al Ain as a promising center for innovation and economic diversification.
