The Golf Federation Launches an Ambitious Strategy to Develop Future Champions
In a new move that reflects its commitment to developing the game of golf in the UAE, the Golf Federation has announced an ambitious strategy to cultivate future champions. This strategy aims to expand the game’s base through programs and initiatives targeting young age groups, paving the way for an increase in the number of players capable of representing the country in regional and international arenas.
Investing in Emerging Talent
The federation includes a range of initiatives aimed at supporting emerging talent and enhancing the presence of the game within educational institutions. An integrated program is being implemented in more than 26 schools through collaboration with both public and private sectors, establishing a culture of participation among new generations. These initiatives seek to discover and refine promising talents using the latest technical and training methods.
The “Future Falcons” Program
As part of this ambitious strategy to develop future champions, the federation has launched the “Future Falcons” program, which serves as a cornerstone for upcoming development plans. The program aims to prepare a generation of male and female players equipped with the necessary technical, physical, and mental skills to compete at advanced levels. This program reflects the federation’s strategic vision to build a strong and sustainable foundation that enhances the opportunities for developing young players.
Aiming for Professionalism
Major General (Pilot) Abdullah Al Hashemi emphasized the importance of investing in human resources to identify talent from early stages. He confirmed that promoting the game and expanding its base are among the key aspects that transition players from amateur status to professionalism. Previous tournaments have showcased promising technical levels, reinforcing the motivation to increase the number of practitioners to over 500 players in the near future.
Future Aspirations
Al Hashemi added that the federation aims to prepare more than five professional players to represent the UAE in major tournaments. The well-planned strategies aim to elevate players’ levels through advanced training programs that include technical and administrative aspects. The federation is also working on developing modern training and officiating curricula to prepare qualified national cadres.
Through this new strategy, the UAE Golf Federation emphasizes the presence of positive indicators and ambitious goals aimed at achieving accomplishments that reflect the country’s progress in the world of sports. The upcoming phase marks a new era for cultivating Emirati golf champions, supported by a wise vision and significant available resources. The ambitious strategy for developing future champions will not only contribute to the growth of the game but will also ensure the UAE’s position on the global sports stage.
