The Supply and Transport System in the UAE Operates Efficiently and Stably
The supply and transport system in the UAE continues to operate with efficiency and stability, supported by integrated national strategies that promote flexibility and cooperation among various sectors. This system demonstrates a high level of readiness, enabling it to tackle regional challenges and enhance the flow of goods, in addition to supporting the national economy through an effective and advanced infrastructure.
High Sustainability and Flexibility in Facing Challenges
The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, affirmed that the UAE’s supply and transport system reflects remarkable flexibility and capability in addressing increasing challenges. In his statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), he noted that this success is a result of an advanced infrastructure that supports the sustainability of supply chains, along with diverse transport channels, whether maritime, land, or rail.
Al Mazrouei pointed out that geopolitical events in the region have not adversely affected transport operations, with over 262,000 containers handled since the beginning of the year and approximately 4,800 trucks operating daily to support connectivity between ports. Additionally, more than 1,200 vessels have been monitored within regional waters to provide support and services.
Integration of Government and Private Sector Efforts
The UAE’s supply and transport system is managed by a dedicated committee that relies on collaboration with the private sector and coordinates efforts among various governmental and local entities. This includes the efforts of more than 20 agencies working systematically to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of supply flows. Direct operational links are established between ports and land entry points, ensuring smooth movement.
Al Mazrouei explains that the national team specialized in this field plays a pivotal role, operating in a command center that works around the clock to monitor shipment movements and prioritize the entry and exit of vessels, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy.
UAE Investments and Their Role in Enhancing Readiness
Significant investments in infrastructure contribute to raising the readiness of the UAE’s supply and transport system. The capacity of the eastern coast ports has increased twentyfold, and the number of daily trucks has risen thirtyfold compared to previous levels. These investments also include increasing cooling points from 490 to over 2,400 electrical points and raising the number of cranes to more than 30.
The community cohesion and understanding of the current situation reflect the community’s confidence in the efficiency of the national system. There is a strong partnership between the community and governmental entities working diligently to achieve a high level of sustainability and provide necessary services.
Performance Evaluation and Port Operations Efficiency
Mohammed Al Mansoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, points out that the facilities provided to transport companies have directly supported logistical operations, with a range of initiatives implemented, such as lifting restrictions on truck movements and activating alternative routes. This has significantly contributed to reducing travel times and increasing performance efficiency.

Al Mansoori emphasizes that these efforts reflect the role of relevant authorities in enhancing the country’s status as a global logistics hub.
