Sheikha Hind Launches 1.6 Billion Dirham Family Empowerment Initiatives

On the occasion of Family Year 2026, Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum has announced a comprehensive set of initiatives aimed at empowering families in Dubai. With an impressive investment of 1.6 billion dirhams, these initiatives will elevate community stability and enhance the quality of life for Dubai’s residents, aligning with the overarching goals of the “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program.” This program is designed not only to support the establishment and growth of families but also to instill societal values and provide an enriching social environment that balances professional and family life.

Transformative Initiatives for Community Development

The directives from Her Highness entail the allocation of residential units in the “Wadi Al Amradi” and “Al Awir” projects, valued at 1.6 billion dirhams, alongside a generous provision of 83 million dirhams for furnishing these homes. Utilizing a modern and transparent allocation mechanism, these initiatives serve as a significant boost to community stability and social welfare. Additionally, plans are underway to establish two event halls in Al Awir, enhancing social engagement and interaction within the community.

Enhancing Family Stability and Quality of Life

This allocation marks the largest batch of residential units provided to citizens since the establishment of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, with a total of 830 ready homes. These efforts reflect the wise leadership’s vision for improving family stability and quality of life in Dubai. The initiative reinforces the importance of creating a supportive environment that balances essential housing projects with effective social care, further positioning Dubai as a city dedicated to the highest standards of living.

A Commitment to Future Generations

Her Highness has reiterated the significance of the “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program” in reinforcing the core values of the Emirati family and ensuring its stability. The aim is to foster a community where families are interconnected and resilient, thus nurturing future generations that hold firm to their identity and contribute to the development of the nation. The inclusion of 398 modern residential units in Al Awir signifies a commitment to excellence in design and functionality, ensuring that they meet the needs of Emirati families.

Advanced Infrastructure and Community Facilities

Each housing project is implemented with advanced infrastructure, including modern road networks and community amenities like public parks and meeting spaces. The units are designed to offer spacious living environments, featuring four bedrooms, a majlis, a lounge, and contemporary kitchen facilities, thus enhancing the family’s comfort and stability. Such initiatives not only address current needs but also facilitate future expansion to accommodate growing families.

As part of the second phase of the “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program,” a new wedding hall in Al Awir, valued at 40 million dirhams, aims to alleviate the financial burden of marriage while fostering community bonds. This hall will cater to about 500 guests, serving over 60,000 citizens in the region. Additionally, the introduction of an outdoor event hall at Mushrif National Park, costing 23 million dirhams, provides flexible space for various family gatherings, enhancing the local lifestyle.

The “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program” aligns seamlessly with Dubai’s strategic vision to make Emirati families the happiest and most connected in the region. With the goal of doubling the number of Emirati families in Dubai by 2033, these new initiatives stand as a testament to the commitment toward building a thriving community. The success of the first phase of the program, which established over 1,100 Emirati families, serves as a foundation for this next chapter, demonstrating the impact of such initiatives on improving quality of life.

Significant growth in the “Dubai Weddings” program, covering key wedding costs and providing venues at no charge, showcases the program’s success, with wedding completions increasing by 44% in 2025. The program has also maintained a remarkable satisfaction rate among beneficiaries, underscoring its positive influence on quality of life, with a reported happiness rate of 97% and an increase in newborn registrations.

The “Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program” has also empowered over 2,100 individuals through educational initiatives such as the “Start Right” program, which educates couples on marital rights and building understanding, and the “Family Financial Literacy” program that emphasizes efficient financial planning. These efforts are vital to ensuring the sustainability and prosperity of Emirati families, solidifying Dubai’s status as a community-oriented city bolstered by supportive frameworks.
