In a significant move towards enhancing media competencies and bolstering international media presence, the Emirates Journalists Association has signed an international agreement aimed at training journalists. This initiative, in collaboration with the International Organization for Journalism and Media from the Netherlands, will launch specialized training programs designed to prepare qualified journalism professionals adhering to the highest global standards. The agreement represents an essential step in promoting Arab media on the international stage.
In a ceremony held at the association’s headquarters in Dubai, the agreement was signed by Fadila Al-Muaini, Chairwoman of the Association’s Board, and Dr. Khaled Bakdash, President of the Organization, in the presence of Sultan Al-Hosni, the organization’s Secretary-General, along with several media leaders and journalists.
Fadila Al-Muaini emphasized that this agreement marks a significant advancement in structured institutional collaboration in the fields of international media training, experience sharing, and professional capacity development. This collaborative effort aims to prepare media professionals to adapt to the rapid changes in the global media landscape, solidifying their active roles internationally.
Additionally, Dr. Khaled Bakdash highlighted that such international partnerships extend beyond merely training journalists in the Middle East. He noted that they directly contribute to repositioning Arab journalism in its rightful place, comparable to major global media institutions. This effort elevates the standard of fact reporting with high professionalism, enhances credibility, and effectively counters digital misinformation and media distortion.
