In light of increasing regional and global challenges, Dubai is adopting a proactive approach to enhance the resilience of its economy by providing economic facilities aimed at improving readiness and rapid response for businesses in the city. These initiatives focus on supporting vital sectors and stimulating the business environment, as the emirate seeks to solidify its position as an attractive global investment hub. This includes providing greater liquidity, reducing operational burdens, and facilitating government procedures, reflecting a continuous commitment to enhancing stability and growth across various fields.
Comprehensive Facilities to Enhance Readiness
As part of its support for the economy, Dubai has launched a package of economic facilities worth one billion dirhams, aimed at enhancing the ability of companies to adapt to changes. This package includes extending the grace periods for customs data, allowing them to be extended from 30 to 90 days, thereby improving the efficiency of supply chains. Additionally, this package allows the deferral of several government fees for three months, easing the financial burden and helping to enhance liquidity for businesses.
Facilities in the Tourism Sector
The initiatives also include facilities for the tourism sector, allowing for the deferral of hotel sales tax collection. This means that hotel establishments can postpone paying 100% of the amounts collected from guests for three months, helping them sustain their operations during difficult periods. These steps not only reflect efforts to enhance readiness and rapid response but also showcase Dubai’s strength as a reliable investment partner.
Additional Support for the Business Sector
At the same time, the Dubai International Financial Centre has launched a set of facilities to assist business and retail communities, which include flexible repayment plans to alleviate financial pressure on companies. Furthermore, Emirates NBD has announced a ‘Business Support Package’ that includes fee exemptions, reflecting a continued commitment to supporting the local economy.
New Social and Economic Initiatives
Moreover, Dubai’s innovative initiatives are showcased through the ‘Together’ program launched by Majid Al Futtaim in partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development. This program aims to support entrepreneurs and empower them to access new markets, thereby enhancing the readiness and rapid response of businesses in Dubai. On another front, the ‘Free Space’ in Alserkal Avenue offers opportunities for creative practitioners, embodying efforts to foster the development of local talent.
