Dubai Creek Tower Tender Set to Launch Within Three Months

In a significant development for Dubai‘s skyline, the founder of Emaar and Noon, Mohammed Ali Alabbar, announced that the much-anticipated tender for the construction of the Dubai Creek Tower will be released within the next three months. This project has undergone some design modifications, aiming to enhance its aesthetic appeal in alignment with Dubai’s architectural vision.

Details of the Upcoming Tender

During an interview at the 11th edition of the Dubai Global Project Management Forum 2026, Alabbar emphasized that the focus at this stage is on the visual impact of the project, stating, “We constructed the Burj Khalifa and continue to develop it, the recent update being the lighting system. We must create something truly special.” He confirmed that the tender for Dubai Creek Tower will indeed be launched in three months, following adjustments to the design.

Focus on Aesthetic Appeal

Alabbar described the new design as “beautiful,” reflecting a shift away from sheer height as the sole defining factor of tall buildings. He explained that after the Burj Khalifa, the emphasis has switched to the aesthetics of the structure and its surroundings. The current development phase prioritizes the project’s visual allure, setting a new standard for architectural beauty in the region.

Debunking Misconceptions

In response to speculation that the delay in the Dubai Creek Tower project was linked to awaiting announcements from other countries regarding the construction of taller towers, Alabbar clarified that such claims are unfounded. He stated that Emaar owns vast land in Dubai and has the capacity to develop new towers at any time without facing challenges. The emphasis is not on a race for higher numbers but rather on architectural beauty and the smart utilization of buildings.

Commitment to Quality and Community

Alabbar stressed that quality, design, and sustainability are fundamental commitments of real estate projects, viewing them as essential for the community rather than mere optional extras. “The home is the most valuable and important possession in a person’s life, and it must be constructed according to the highest standards,” he noted. Furthermore, he mentioned that the role of a real estate developer extends beyond profit generation; it significantly impacts family life and stability within communities.

Moreover, he underscored the importance of continuous service improvements, particularly regarding maintenance and quality assurance after properties are handed over. Alabbar expressed pride in Dubai’s landmark achievements that have garnered global attention, suggesting that the city is so successful that everything about it seems beautiful.

As an Emirati businessman, Alabbar highlighted his strength in building strong teams, demonstrating a commitment to swift execution. He praised the efforts of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, noting that the emirate’s successes are a result of significant work conducted under constant pressure. He described the rapid growth of Dubai as “unnatural,” attributing the observed traffic congestions to this accelerated expansion.

Lastly, Alabbar addressed the evolving workplace dynamics brought on by artificial intelligence, cautioning that many organizations worldwide struggle with overstaffing. He believes a shift towards enhanced productivity and quality over mere headcount is essential. He disclosed practical steps his company has implemented to boost efficiency, such as completely prohibiting meetings in September, including virtual meetings, to streamline operations and enhance performance quality.
