Celebrating Heritage Through “Ghafna Marifa”

The concluding event took place at Manasef Park in Al Ain, coinciding with the closing of the “National Knowledge Generation Winter Program 25”. Titled “Ghafna Marifa” and themed “The Northern Breeze and Gathering Together,” the event emphasized the importance of national identity and community solidarity among various generations. It featured an impressive array of activities, including literary, heritage, environmental, sports, and artistic events, all aimed at instilling a strong sense of national awareness among children and youth.

A Collaborative Community Effort

The event not only highlighted the rich tapestry of Emirati heritage but also showcased strong community partnerships that enriched the program. Local organizations and institutions participated alongside dedicated creatives and cultural enthusiasts, promoting an interactive experience. Activities were crafted to connect participants with national heritage and the local environment, reinforcing a sense of belonging and pride.

Reflecting National Values

Over two weeks, the National Knowledge Generation Winter Program 2025 offered a diverse range of cultural, recreational, and educational outings. The “Ghafna Marifa” event at Manasef Park painted a vivid picture of traditional Emirati life, reviving ancient practices in a way that reflects the values of the desert environment while deepening ties to the nation’s cultural and social heritage. The festival included traditional and sports activities, attracting families and children, thus creating an engaging space enriched by the involvement of several local community institutions.

Looking Towards a Brighter Future

Mariam Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Institutions, underscored the significance of these activities as a continuation of the vision set forth by Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan. “These events extend our commitment to building aware generations who hold on to their identity and actively contribute to community service.
