In recent weather fluctuations, the Dubai Ambulance Service has reported a significant decrease in critical emergency calls. According to Executive Director Mishal Abdulkarim Julfar, the institution has efficiently handled the majority of the calls, indicating that the impact of adverse weather has been managed effectively. This report delves into the reasons behind this drop in serious emergency reports and highlights the strategies implemented by the Dubai Ambulance Service during this period.
Efficient Response to Weather-Related Calls
Mishal Abdulkarim Julfar emphasized that from Thursday to Friday, all received reports were mostly minor incidents, with prompt responses executed both at the sites of the incidents and through the transfer of cases that required nearby medical attention. He noted that instances of critical or dangerous calls were exceptionally low compared to regular days. This trend suggests that the protocols in place are functioning well during adverse weather conditions.
Collaboration and Strategy in Crisis Management
In an interview with Emirates Today, Julfar attributed the reduction in critical calls to collaborative efforts among various authorities in Dubai. The implementation of a remote work system has significantly reduced traffic movement, thereby minimizing injuries and accidents. This strategy has positively impacted the health and safety of the community. Julfar affirmed that Dubai’s conditions remain stable, thanks to the extensive measures taken to mitigate the effects of the weather changes.
Enhanced Preparedness and Resources
Julfar highlighted that the Dubai Ambulance Service teams were on standby around the clock since the onset of the low-pressure weather system. A comprehensive field plan was executed, involving a strategic distribution of resources and ambulances throughout the emirate to ensure rapid response to all emergencies. Furthermore, the number of personnel increased to 425 during this period, up from approximately 300 on regular days, ensuring ample support for handling potential emergencies efficiently.
Robust Infrastructure and Emergency Coordination
The Dubai Ambulance Service activated 157 diverse ambulance resources, including standard and all-terrain vehicles, field support units, and even water ambulances to secure aquatic areas. Additionally, air ambulances were deployed in collaboration with Dubai Police’s Air Wing, creating a flexible deployment plan to ensure quick access to emergency sites across the emirate. Julfar praised the close cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority and both public and private hospitals in managing patient transfers effectively. He appreciated the ongoing coordination with strategic partners within the emergency response system, which includes Dubai’s resilience centers, police, civil defense, and other essential services.
As the Dubai Ambulance Service prepares to maintain readiness in the coming days, Julfar assured that rapid and effective response to emergencies remains a top priority. The institution continues to engage closely with relevant agencies to expertly handle any developments, ensuring community safety throughout these fluctuating weather conditions.
