dnata and Dubai Police Launch Integrated Security Screening Facility

dnata, a leader in aviation and travel services, has launched a central security screening management room at its cargo facilities in collaboration with Dubai Police, marking an important step towards digital transformation in air cargo operations. This room aims to enhance efficiency and security by integrating automation and advanced monitoring technologies.

Advanced Security Screening Technology

dnata has announced the development of a new central security screening room at its cargo facility at Dubai International Airport. In collaboration with the Dubai Police General Command, this project represents an innovative step in introducing digital technologies into security screening operations. Through a high-tech command center, Dubai Police officers can remotely operate six X-ray cargo screening units, improving efficiency and reducing the time required for screenings.

The “One Cargo” System and Its Impact on Operations

Each unit is connected to the “One Cargo” system, an integrated digital platform for managing dnata’s cargo operations. This system enables the automation of operational and commercial processes, facilitating rapid data sharing and accelerating decision-making. Previously, security screening operations were distributed across multiple points within the warehouse, leading to resource and efficiency wastage. However, the new centralized approach consolidates all screening procedures in one location, saving time and resources and resulting in an annual increase of approximately 3% in security screening capacity.

dnata’s Achievements and Operational Scale

dnata serves over 120 airlines and handles about 60,000 tons of cargo monthly at its Dubai International Airport facility. This year, the company achieved a significant milestone by transferring over one million tons of shipments between April 2024 and March 2025, marking the highest annual handling volume in its history at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport. This success is attributed to a sustainable growth rate of 30%, reflecting the company’s ability to adapt to increasing demand.

Future Innovations and New Trends

The new system contributes to reducing manual touchpoints and enables advanced data analysis. It also helps optimize resource utilization within the facility by minimizing unnecessary movement of goods and fuel consumption. The central control room for security screening, developed in partnership between dnata and Dubai Police, is designed to support command functions and is equipped with modern monitoring interfaces and live imaging technologies, ensuring the tracking of operations at all stages of screening.

Guillaume Crozier, CEO of dnata’s Cargo Operations, stated that this project represents a pivotal turning point in dnata’s journey towards smarter and more efficient cargo handling. He noted that close collaboration with Dubai Police enhances security and efficiency, embodying Dubai’s commitment to innovation. The future looks forward to further innovations, such as testing autonomous mobile robots that will transport shipments efficiently and securely, reducing reliance on forklifts.
