Abu Dhabi Festival Celebrates Emirati Hunting and Equestrian Heritage

The “Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition” is a vibrant celebration of the rich Emirati heritage, intertwining traditional practices with contemporary experiences. Scheduled for 2025, this esteemed exhibition will showcase a series of events designed to enhance appreciation for the UAE’s cultural depth. The initiative aims not only to honor centuries-old customs but also to engage newer generations, ensuring that the spirit of the Emirati identity remains alive and flourishing.

This year, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2025 has announced enhancements to its current edition by adding two exceptional new features, alongside the continuation of popular family activities that celebrate the depth of authentic Emirati culture and heritage.

The 22nd edition of the exhibition is organized by ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Emirates Falconers Club, and will run until September 7. It is expected to be the largest in the exhibition’s rich history, featuring improvements to existing activities and the addition of new and unique experiences for all age groups.

For the first time, the exhibition will launch the “Little Falconer Village” and a special area for teaching “Emirati Council Etiquette and Arabic Coffee Preparation,” aimed at instilling cultural values and enhancing national heritage among new generations. An interactive workshop will allow children to learn about the origins of falconry and Emirati hospitality etiquette, including how to welcome guests, council manners, and the art of serving Arabic coffee, all in a manner that reflects authenticity and embodies the depth of Emirati identity.

This year also marks the launch of a dedicated area for traditional handicrafts, providing visitors the opportunity to interact directly with Emirati artisans and discover their authentic crafts. Visitors can learn to create perfumes and incense using traditional methods, try their hand at manually shaping clay incense burners, and explore the arts of weaving sadu and palm fronds, which reflect the depth of Emirati identity. They will also have the chance to practice “Talli” embroidery, a traditional art used to embellish Emirati women’s clothing, considered one of the most prominent symbols of heritage adornment in the region.

The exhibition will also offer new creative artistic activities suitable for all age groups, allowing children to express their creativity through marbling painting workshops and mural painting adventures. Additionally, a creative corner will enable visitors to design their own unique jewelry pieces to keep as artistic souvenirs from this exceptional heritage event. The exhibition continues to provide an innovative artistic experience with Japanese Decoupage art, in collaboration with “Shada Studio,” where participants of all ages can embark on a unique creative adventure, using a butter-like adhesive to create intricate handmade designs that adorn accessories and phone covers.

Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to participate in specialized pottery-making workshops led by Emirati expert Saeed Al Shehhi, who will share his expertise in these ancient crafts within an educational and interactive atmosphere. The “Arena” for live interactive shows will reclaim its pivotal role in the exhibition, serving as the heart of the event with exciting live displays throughout the day. Among the notable additions this year is the premiere of “Horse Master Liberty,” featuring renowned star Ali Al Amri, who will showcase his unique skills in horseback riding and exceptional acrobatic performances. The Emirates Arabian Horse Society will organize an exclusive auction featuring a selection of the finest and most beautiful purebred Arabian horses, blending heritage with luxury.

The “Knowledge Center” returns in its new version as a vibrant interactive platform that brings together exhibitors, experts, innovators, industry leaders, and shooting enthusiasts under one roof. The target shooting experience and shooting simulation provide a high level of excitement, allowing participants to test their precision shooting skills and assess their ability to maintain focus and composure in conditions that require speed and balance under pressure.

Ultimately, the “Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition” represents more than just an event; it is a comprehensive celebration of authentic Emirati heritage, ensuring the preservation and enhancement of cultural values in the hearts of future generations through a variety of educational and interactive activities.
