In a move that reflects the success of efforts to enhance the business environment, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce announced the addition of 35,532 new companies to its membership during the first half of 2025. This growth of 4% indicates Dubai’s attractiveness as an ideal investment destination, reinforcing its status as a global business hub. These figures highlight the Chamber’s vital role in achieving the targets of Dubai’s Economic Agenda (D33) and enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy.

Achieving Economic Growth

During the first half of this year, the value of exports and re-exports by members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce reached AED 171.9 billion, achieving an 18% growth compared to the same period last year. With the Chamber issuing 409,083 certificates of origin, this figure increased by 10% compared to the first half of 2024. Additionally, the Chamber issued and received 2,961 temporary import permits for goods, reflecting the active trade movement in the emirate.

Supporting Innovation and International Expansion

The Dubai Chamber successfully supported 60 local companies in their international expansion, highlighting comprehensive efforts to assist entrepreneurs. This represents a growth of 76% compared to 34 companies supported in their overseas market expansion during the same period last year. Under the “New Horizons for International Expansion” initiative, the Chamber organized two intensive trade missions to Southeast Asia and Africa, where 1,076 one-on-one meetings took place between local and foreign companies, showcasing the value of the international connections established by the Chamber.

Enhancing Legislation and Business Development

In collaboration with business groups, the Dubai Chamber reviewed 27 laws and draft bills, achieving a recommendation approval rate of 60%, surpassing the 46% rate for the same period in 2024. Additionally, 98 meetings were held with business groups and councils, showing a significant increase. On another note, five new business councils representing diverse nationalities were launched, reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the business community.

Dubai Family Business Center

The Dubai Family Business Center continues its efforts to provide support and sustainable growth for family businesses. A special guide for family businesses was issued to enhance their sustainability, a collaboration between the Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Center. The Center also organized two events to discuss success stories strategically, supporting the new generations of business leaders.

Overall, the addition of 35,532 new companies to the Dubai Chamber membership in the first half of the year is not just a number; it is a strong indicator of the success of economic and developmental policies in the emirate. These results demonstrate what Dubai can achieve in the future, especially with ongoing efforts to enhance the investment environment and attract more companies.
