This trend underscores the success of initiatives aimed at empowering women and enhancing their positive impact on economic and social development.
Strong Growth in New Economic Licences
According to the Authority’s data, 3,058 new economic licences were issued to Emirati women entrepreneurs during the first half of 2026. This reflects a 6.4% increase compared to 2,873 licences issued during the same period last year.
Diverse Sectors and Licence Categories
The new licences issued to Emirati women in the first six months of this year cover a wide range of sectors and licence categories. These include regular economic licences, “Abu Dhabi Trader” licences, and freelance licences, which allow professionals and experts to engage in economic activities. This variety enables the utilisation of extensive knowledge and experience among professionals, facilitating a faster transition to a knowledge-based and innovative economy.
Additionally, the new economic licences encompass sectors such as industry, agriculture, and trade, further highlighting the diversity of opportunities available for women entrepreneurs in Abu Dhabi.
Commitment to Empower Women Entrepreneurs
