The Sharjah Cultural Center aims to strengthen family bonds by organizing a distinctive array of events. Public libraries in the Emirate of Sharjah will host 22 events in July to celebrate Family Year, combining reading, knowledge, and arts while stimulating creative thinking across various age groups. These activities highlight the importance of libraries as spaces that bring people together and enhance understanding and culture.

Diverse Programs in Sharjah Libraries

As part of its celebration of Family Year, Sharjah Public Libraries will offer a wide range of activities throughout July across libraries in Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al-Hisn, and Wadi Al-Helo. These events aim to engage children, teenagers, and adults in interactive activities that enrich their knowledge and instill the value of learning. On July 7, Al Dhaid Public Library will host an event titled “Words That Shape My Future,” where the impact of words on thinking will be explored through practical discussions.

Interactive Events and Competitions

July’s events also include numerous workshops, such as “Science Protects Our Planet,” presented by Wadi Al-Helo Library, which focuses on the role of science in protecting the environment and encourages children to think of innovative solutions. Additionally, the “Einstein’s Genius Secret” workshop will take place at Sharjah Library, aiming to foster curiosity through scientific games and creative challenges. Meanwhile, Dibba Al-Hisn Library will hold a session titled “The Internet and Grandma’s Tale,” inviting participants to compare traditional wisdom with modern technology, reflecting the importance of family memory.

Hosting Writers and Creatives

Khorfakkan Public Library will host writer Zahra Khalid Al-Nuqbi in a unique event titled “From Story to Kitchen” on July 16, where children will read a cooking-related story and learn healthy recipes during an interactive workshop. Visual artist Mirna Hatoum will also conduct a workshop called “Canvas Behind the Fabric” at Kalba Public Library, encouraging children to express themselves artistically using fabric. All these events enhance the cultural and educational experience for families and reaffirm the vital role of libraries in the community.
