Mohammed bin Zayed Discusses Iranian Aggressions and Regional Developments with the Indonesian President and NATO Secretary General
In his efforts to enhance regional and international stability, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, conducted phone calls with Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, and Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO, to discuss Iranian aggressions and the latest developments in the region. These discussions reflect the UAE’s commitment to maintaining security and peace in the face of increasing challenges.
Escalation of Tensions in the Region
During the call with the Indonesian president, the two leaders reviewed the developments in the region, which is experiencing military escalation that negatively impacts regional and international security and peace. They emphasized the role of Iranian terrorist aggressions that continue to target the UAE and neighboring countries, highlighting their violations of the sovereignty of these nations. Prabowo Subianto expressed his condemnation of these aggressions, underscoring Indonesia’s steadfast position in supporting the UAE and its measures to protect its security.
Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance and develop bilateral cooperation in line with their mutual interests. They expressed their commitment to continue supporting relations within the framework of a comprehensive economic partnership, which would benefit and promote growth for both peoples. Additionally, both parties called for serious dialogue as an effective means to address regional issues and avoid further crises.
Call with NATO Secretary General
In the same context, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed reviewed regional developments with Jens Stoltenberg and their impact on international shipping and the global economy, exchanging views on the effect of Iranian aggressions. The UAE’s efficiency in managing the crisis and the measures taken to protect its territories and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents were praised. Stoltenberg emphasized the importance of international coordination to address escalating security challenges and stressed the urgent need to halt military escalation.
