Sharjah Police Reunites Lost Vehicle Registration with Seniors

The Sharjah Police have launched a groundbreaking initiative designed to assist senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. This program aims to simplify processes and offer flexible services tailored to their unique needs, enabling them to receive lost vehicle registration numbers right at their homes. This service, which began yesterday, operates over a span of three days, ensuring that those affected by current weather conditions do not have to visit service centers in person.

The Sharjah Police clarified that users can request a reissue of lost vehicle numbers through their Contact Center at 901. The Vehicle Licensing and Driver Department will handle the entire process, including printing and delivering the registration numbers to beneficiaries’ homes, without any additional charges. This initiative not only eliminates the need for cumbersome visits to service centers but also prioritizes the safety and well-being of vulnerable community members during adverse weather conditions.

This initiative is part of Sharjah Police’s ongoing commitment to enhance proactive services, making processes more efficient and time-saving, especially during unusual weather events. The goal is to meet emerging community demands and promote societal stability. The police encourage seniors and individuals with disabilities to take full advantage of this service, reiterating their dedication to advancing innovative initiatives that improve service quality while bolstering the overall security framework.

In addition to this, the Sharjah Police reported receiving a staggering 40,647 calls across their emergency (999) and non-emergency (901) Contact Centers during the recent weather downturn. Brigadier Mohammed Rahma Al-Ghazal, Head of the Operations Center, indicated that the central operations room effectively managed 33,693 emergency calls and 6,954 inquiries related to non-emergency services with high standards of efficiency and response times to ensure security services are delivered proficiently.

The operations center utilized a comprehensive operational system to quickly receive, analyze, and direct reports to the relevant authorities. This approach significantly mitigated the adverse impacts of the severe weather and maintained fluid traffic movement throughout the emirate. Sharjah Police have also intensified the deployment of security and traffic patrols across main roads, intersections, and vital areas to monitor conditions round-the-clock in coordination with strategic partners, ensuring a rapid response to emergencies.

The police urge community members to remain cautious during the weather fluctuations and adhere to driving safety guidelines. They encourage individuals not to hesitate in contacting the emergency number 999 for urgent situations or the non-emergency number 901 for inquiries, reinforcing community safety and protection efforts.

Sharjah Police continue to invite seniors and individuals with disabilities to utilize the delivery service for lost vehicle numbers, underscoring the significance of these initiatives in enhancing the quality of life for all community members.
