This New Madinat Jumeirah Addition, SANA, is Coming to Dubai This Month

Introducing SANA, an exciting new restaurant set to open at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam this September. This Uzbek culinary destination is poised to take diners on a remarkable journey along the Silk Road, offering an array of bold flavors, rich cultural experiences, and a commitment to modern hospitality that is sure to elevate Dubai’s vibrant dining scene.

The brainchild of BIK Hospitality, the team behind notable venues such as Cutfish in Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab and African Queen on J1 Beach, SANA is positioned to quickly become a favorite among both locals and visitors.

SANA draws inspiration from the renowned Restaurant Uzbekistan in Moscow and is thoughtfully overseen by Chef Glen Ballis, who brings a wealth of culinary expertise from cities like Melbourne, Moscow, London, and various parts of Asia. The menu showcases authentic Uzbek dishes alongside contemporary Asian offerings, artfully transforming traditional recipes into modern delights that bridge Eastern and Western flavors.

When it comes to the design, SANA features earthy color palettes, artisanal textures, and subtle details reflecting Uzbek culture. It stands apart as more than just another restaurant in Dubai; the space includes a hidden bar and event venue named Moon, where guests can enjoy pre-dinner cocktails. Additionally, the floating terrace offers a charming outdoor option for those looking to savor the cooler weather.

Signature dishes at SANA will include Plov, slow-cooked to perfection, Shashlik skewers, succulent wood-fired meats, and delicate pastries such as Olat Somsa and Chebureki. A selection of salads, soups, and flatbreads designed for sharing adds to the communal dining experience.

As the culinary landscape in Dubai continues to expand, SANA joins a wave of new establishments. Upcoming launches include KIGO, a Japanese restaurant in DIFC, and Ostura, which promises a dining experience inspired by 1001 Arabian Nights with live entertainment and food theatrics in a contemporary setting.
