The “Decent Life” Project Wins the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Sustainable Development
In a significant step towards promoting sustainable development, the national project for the development of rural Egyptian villages, “Decent Life,” has officially been awarded the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Sustainable Development in the field of urban infrastructure planning and management. This announcement was made during the World Government Summit held in Dubai, highlighting the tangible achievements of the project in improving the quality of life for citizens. The award was received by the project consultant, “Dar Al-Handasah Egypt,” amidst a large international audience.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, extended his congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on this distinguished recognition. Madbouly emphasized that this achievement reflects the Egyptian government’s commitment to supporting developmental initiatives aimed at improving living standards in rural Egypt. Through these initiatives, the state seeks to meet citizens’ needs and achieve strategic goals related to sustainable development.
The Importance of the “Decent Life” Initiative
The presidential initiative “Decent Life” is considered one of the most important national projects in recent years, launched under President El-Sisi’s directives to improve the living standards of more than 60 million citizens in 4,500 villages. The first phase targeted the implementation of over 27,300 service and developmental projects distributed across 1,447 villages in 20 governorates. Approximately 20 million citizens benefit from these projects, reflecting the extent of improvements achievable through sustainable development programs.
Plans for the Second Phase and Future Expansion
Preparations are currently underway for the implementation of the second phase of the initiative, which includes 1,667 new villages. Priority will be given to infrastructure works, demonstrating the government’s determination to expand development to cover all of Egypt. Through these efforts, “Decent Life” aims to enhance the social and economic safety of citizens and achieve greater inclusivity in providing essential services.
