Empowering Humanity as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development

The concept of “building human capital as a driver of sustainable development” is increasingly being utilized in the policies of modern governments. Sustainable development is seen as a result of continuous efforts focused on enhancing individual capabilities and meeting community needs. In this context, the emphasis placed by His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, on the importance of building human capital was the focal point of the Executive Council meeting held as part of the annual meetings of the UAE government in Abu Dhabi. The meeting aims to pursue the vision of Ajman 2030, which focuses on improving the quality of life and comprehensive community development.

Achieving the Goals of Ajman 2030 Vision

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi chaired the Executive Council meeting, highlighting the necessity for the efforts of the Ajman government to be part of a shared national responsibility. In his speech, he stressed the importance of transitioning “from vision to impact… and from planning to the real experience of the people.” He pointed out that evaluation should be based on the reality of people’s lives and the extent of government influence on their daily details.

During the meeting, the project to develop a human resources law for the government of the emirate was approved as a strategic step aimed at aligning labor policies with the targets of the Ajman 2030 Vision, thereby enhancing the quality of life for government employees and their families. The project includes improving working conditions and facilitating the necessary factors to create a positive work environment, while promoting equality and the existence of flexible career paths that support inclusivity and empowerment.

Council for Lifelong Learning

In the context of building human capital as a driver of sustainable development, the establishment of the “Council for Lifelong Learning” in the emirate was announced. This council aims to provide the necessary insights and partnerships to ensure the development of educational and practical capabilities for individuals, facilitating their competitiveness in the job market. Continuous education is considered the cornerstone of building an adaptable individual capable of facing contemporary challenges.

Transitioning to an Integrated and Sustainable Environment

As part of efforts to enhance public services, His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi approved the conceptual framework for services encompassing 11 key sectors that impact community life. The council is working to evaluate services from a human experience perspective, reflecting the transition of the government to a role as a provider of public value. These standards contribute to improving quality and satisfaction among beneficiaries.

To enhance inclusivity, His Highness directed an expansion of evaluation programs such as “mystery shopper” and “realistic simulation” to ensure effective responses to community needs. Additionally, the urban empowerment strategy was presented, which includes projects aimed at city rehabilitation and enhancing sustainability.

Looking Towards the Future

The environmental targets for Ajman 2030 include reducing carbon emissions and increasing green spaces, reflecting the emirate’s commitment to achieving sustainable developmental goals. His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi affirmed that the upcoming phase requires tangible results that people can feel, and enhancing partnerships between the public and private sectors to ensure effective achievement of environmental goals.

At the conclusion of the session, His Highness emphasized the importance of achieving accomplishments that can be recorded and highlighted as successes in the emirate’s efforts, ensuring that these achievements are visible and tangible in people’s lives.

Following the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi toured the interactive exhibitions accompanying the meetings, showcasing projects and initiatives that employ artificial intelligence technologies in developing government services, reflecting a strong commitment to building human capital as a driver of sustainable development.
