Dubai Police Raise Awareness Among Delivery Motorcycle Riders and Taxi Drivers on Safe Driving During Weather Changes
As part of its efforts to enhance road safety, Dubai Police has launched an awareness campaign aimed at educating delivery motorcycle riders and taxi drivers on how to drive safely during adverse weather conditions. This initiative addresses the increasing need to raise awareness of traffic rules in changing weather, which directly contributes to ensuring the safety of both riders and other road users. The campaign emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety instructions to avoid accidents.
Call for Commitment to Safe Driving
The General Command of Dubai Police urged delivery motorcycle riders to follow guidelines regarding halting movement and providing delivery services, especially during rainfall. Brigadier Jumaa Salem Bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Traffic Department, explained that these measures are essential for everyone’s safety. Through the campaign executed by the Traffic Education Team, 100 delivery motorcycle riders received valuable information about compliance with traffic rules and safe riding practices.
Raising Awareness of Weather-Related Risks
The campaign also highlighted the risky behaviors that some may exhibit during bad weather, such as entering waterlogged areas or stopping on the roadside. These actions pose a significant danger to motorcycle riders and other road users, making it essential to educate everyone about potential risks. The campaign included information about the traffic safety platform, which fosters a culture of safe driving.
Awareness Program for Taxi Drivers
In addition to educating delivery motorcycle riders, Dubai Police also focused on enhancing awareness among taxi drivers. Brigadier Jumaa Bin Suwaidan mentioned that an awareness lecture for drivers from the “Dubai Taxi Corporation” benefited over 40 drivers, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules during inclement weather.
The Importance of Maintenance and Precautions
Participants were informed about the dangers of entering waterlogged areas, as this can lead to loss of vehicle control. In this context, the significance of regular vehicle maintenance and ensuring tire safety was underscored, helping to reduce slip-related accidents during adverse weather. Brigadier Jumaa Bin Suwaidan concluded by urging taxi drivers and motorcycle riders to comply with traffic instructions and take necessary precautions as key factors in enhancing road safety.
